I will be presenting this project to the NC State Technical Communication faculty, my peers, and interested parties at my capstone defense Tuesday, April 26th.
If the presentation yields feedback or requests for additional work, modification of content, etc. I will be making these changes here and will update the blog to reflect the new information. In the meantime I continue to welcome comments and suggestions of any kind and I encourage any interested parties to use the information I’ve developed in any way they find useful.
Thank you for your interest in this project and I hope you’ve found it useful and informative!
The Technical Communication program at NC State is a Master of Science degree available from the Department of English. The program was established in 1988 and in May of 2010 celebrated 20 years of exceptional graduates. The program enjoys a national reputation, with its faculty recognized as one of the strongest in the field and is the home of one of the first student chapters of the Association for Computing Machinery’s Special Interest Group (SIG) on the Design of Communication (DOC).

In the spring of 2010 I took the special topics course on Social Media and Technical Communication, a topic I found to be interesting and increasingly relevant to today’s graduates. When the time came to select a topic for my 675 project I elected to work on the development of this course in hopes that it might be added to the Technical Communication course offerings on a permanent basis.
If you would like to learn more about me, or this project, please feel free to submit comments via the Feedback form on this site. Thank you for your interest in this project and Happy Communicating!
