At my university things that are old are “surplused” and tossed in a warehouse to be sold- kind of a garage sale for campus. It amused me that it’s not just furniture and computers, but also clocks. And this one is still on the wall!

You do realize, don’t you, that the guy who was walking around putting those surplus sheets on the furniture in the Caldwell Lounge didn’t put that up there, right?
It was one of the guys who was actually there for our SIGDOC meeting — the gray haired guy that while he was there sat up near Brad. He said, “You know what? I’m tired of looking at that clock up there. It doesn’t work.” And he took one of those sheets and taped it up to that clock.
Cracked me up!
